Empowering Local Initiatives

Support our rural farming communities that grow our food. Anne Arundel County was a farming community that provided fruits and vegetables to Baltimore city less than 50 years ago. We still have a very active Farm Bureau in Davidsonville that actively preserves farmland.

Build the Key Bridge!

We in the Legislature, should band together to insist on the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge as quickly as possible. It's shameful that after over two years we are back to square one choosing a contractor.

Endorsements

I have known Amy Leahy for over 40 years starting when she came to work for the county budget office in 1983. During my 8 years as Anne Arundel County Executive, I worked with the budget office and Amy to find ways to aggressively fund purchases of land for future parks as well as land preservation. Amy built her career in county government based on hard work and devotion to the citizens of Anne Arundel County. She is a true public servant. She is a mom and wife who has raised her family in this county since moving here 40 years ago. She has been a tireless volunteer in countless organizations that add tremendously to the quality of life in her community. In short, Amy Leahy knows the county from the perspective of an ordinary citizen who has worked for its citizens as a public servant and volunteered in numerous organizations that have addressed the needs and concerns of its residents. In my opinion Amy reflects the values of Anne Arundel County people as well as anyone I know. Amy would make an outstanding State Senator because she knows the good people of this county and will listen to their concerns and fight for their interests. She is smart, hardworking and cares about regular folks. In a phrase,  Amy is one of us.
