Senator Gile voted yes on SB 1 in 2024, which changed the rules for retail electricity and gas suppliers. Amy wants the state to review how those changes affected consumer choice while it tackles the larger problem: Maryland needs more reliable in-state power and should not shift data center grid costs onto households.

Some prosecutors opposed the bill. Amy’s concern is whether juvenile services have the capacity to respond to serious and repeat offenses while victims and communities are heard.
Amy supports opportunities for rehabilitation, with meaningful accountability when a young person commits a serious crime. She would press for results and track what happens after the law takes effect.
